Better known as Artoria Pendragon, otherwise called King Arthur (who is regarded as a male in history), Saber is a heroic warrior who is summoned by a teenager named Shirou Emiya to participate in a war between masters and servants, all of whom fight to accomplish their dreams using the mythical Holy Grail. Saber is an agile and mighty warrior who is loyal, independent, and reserved; she appears emotionally cold but is actually suppressing her emotions to focus on her goals.
Gameplay Tips
- Saber has an additional meter, called the Mana Burst Meter. Once fully filled, Saber enters the Mana Burst state, granting her increased offense and movement.
- If Saber lands a hit with a strong/special/EX move while in Mana Burst state, she will consume her Mana Burst Meter to replenish 2 stacks of her Prism Gauge.
- If Saber replenishes her Prism Gauge via her Mana Burst Meter while her Prism Gauge is close to reaching its max, any overflow will be stored for later.
- Both Saber's Down Special and Down EX function as counters against attacks and projectiles.
- Saber's fully charged Up Strong unleashes a pillar of wind in front of her, useful for potential edgeguarding setups.
Trivia
- Saber's gender was not publicly announced by her father at her birth, due to fear that she would not be accepted as a legitimate ruler of Britain.
- Saber's real name is often written inconsistently. While Artoria is the most-used spelling, the name Altria is sometimes used across different localizations.
