Luigi

Luigi

Super Mario

Luigi is a character from the Super Mario series. Luigi has the following moveset:
  • Luigi made his debut in the 1983 arcade game Mario Bros.. At the time, he worse a white shirt and cap with green overalls, similar to his appearance when donning a Fire Flower
  • Luigi is usually the stand-in for Player 2, but as of Super Mario Bros. Wii onward you can pick him as a selectable choice, and even play as him alone in Wonder!
  • Luigi's first big break was in Luigi's Mansion, released in 2001! This is the first appearance of the Poltergust, but he doesn't have it in this game.
  • In Febuary 14th 2013, Luigi got his own dedicated year of celebration in 2013! The Year of Luigi lost Nintendo 457 million dollars.
  • The title Super Mario Bros. 2 refers to different games in Japan and the West, but both introduced Luigi's ability to jump higher than his brother!
  • Luigi's Neutral Air pops opponents straight upward. Since you know which way they're headed, it's easy to land this in neutral and convert to whatever you need.
  • Luigi's Up Air is his former Lead Headbutt, which serves as a surprisingly quick KO option from the top of the screen. if you need to kill upward in a pinch, this button is for you.
  • Luigi's Dash Attack hits multiple times, and is a suitable burst option for when you need one now. Poor thing doesn't seem to agree...
  • Luigi's Down Throw is unique, as it sports as a bury throw for free setups! Just don't try and loop the bury, though, it won't work twice in a row!
  • If your foe is clinging to an edge for dear life, try using Luigi's Down Taunt by the edge they're hanging on to. Why? I dunno, you figure that out, not me.
  • Ice Ball (Neutral Special) serves as Luigi's zoning option, being floatier but faster than the Fireball. EX Neutral Special instead spawns a big ice cube!
  • Green Missile (Side Special) serves as an unpredictable recovery option. If you charge it for too long, Luigi exhausts himself. Let him breathe, then try again!
  • Sometimes, there's a 1/8 chance that Green Missile becomes a Misfire, hitting incredibly hard and flying very far! Sometimes, maybe too far?
  • Luigi's EX Side Special, Blue Shell, is explosive! It's much riskier to land with a lot more reward. Just ensure you don't blast yourself away.
  • Luigi sticks his head into a Propellor Block (Up Special) and flies away for solid recovery. His EX Up Special flies higher and has a launching hitbox if you time it well!
  • Thunderbrand (Down Special) is Luigi's central mechanic. Hold the button to charge electric energy, which then you can release, or store by pressing Shield.
  • While in Thunderbrand, Luigi can use his charge in his Smash Attacks, making them even stronger and electrified. His Up Smash even becomes more faithful to his old Super Jump Punch!
  • If Luigi is hit while in Thunderbrand charge, he has to charge it all over again, as he loses focus. Be careful with your Thunder Storage!
  • Ex Down Special's Thunderbrand is much different, as it serves as long range electric beam that actually gains you charge on use! How handy!
  • That's mama Luigi to you, Mario! *snort*
