Mario is the most recognizable videogame character in the world, known best for his jumping skill and his iconic catchphrase "Let's-a-go!". A short Italian plumber who lives in the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario goes on several adventures across the years, usually centered on saving Princess Peach from the dastardly King Bowser. Unique to his series, Mario has access to many power-ups that give him different abilities, such as the Tanooki Leaf and Fire Flower.
Gameplay Tips
- Mario's Forward Air has a sweetspot on the bottom of the hammer. Try to land it while an opponent is trying to recover for some "Excellent" benefit!
- Mario's Up Smash is his Super Jump Punch, a multihit rising uppercut. This move leaves you in the air afterward, meaning you can throw out a surprise attack afterward!
- Mario's Back Throw is a strong airplane swing throw that can net KOs in a pinch. If you pair him with the right character, he can say a special voice line.
- Mario's Fireball bounces across the floor. You can chase behind your fireball and confirm with a kill option, especially with the EX Fireball that summons six at once!
- Mario's Side Special tosses out Cappy, who will spin in place as a trampoline for yourself and the opponent. Input again to make Mario dive forward!
- Mario's EX Side Special is Wing Cap Glide, a rushing charge that serves as Mario's most reliable side recovery option. Careful, though, as it's very telegraphed!
- Mario's Up Special is Rocket Nozzle. Mario can charge how much water he can use to blast himself higher, and the EX move won't put him in special fall!
