A human shrine maiden from the outside world who was chosen by her family's shrine to serve as the head priestess of the Moriya Shrine in Gensokyo. Upon her arrival, she encountered the goddesses Kanako and Suwako, who sought to expand their influence in Gensokyo. Sanae quickly adapted to her new role, aiding the goddesses in various endeavors, including the construction of a nuclear reactor to supply Gensokyo with energy.
Gameplay Tips
Sanae's Up Special and Up EX create static gusts of wind which can be fired as projectiles towards 1 of all 8 directions with her Z-Air after they're set.
Sanae's Down Air is a command grab that pulls the enemy close for a meteor hit. It's easy for the enemy to cancel out of it though, so be careful!
Most of Sanae's best moves are projectiles. It's worth remembering that she fights at her best from a distance.
Though Sanae's Prism Shatter starts off as a short-range attack, the follow-up that happens on hit is guaranteed to leave more than just the first target hurting!
Trivia
Sanae's hair accessories represent the goddesses Suwako (frog barrette) and Kanako (snake band) respectively.
Despite being a human, Sanae is also a demigod, being a distant descendant of Suwako, hence her miracle capabilities.
