Sigma

Sigma

Mega Man X

Sigma was once a respected commander of the Maverick Hunters unit. But after an encounter with a Maverick Zero and barely winning a brutal fight, he eventually becomes a Maverick and begins a revolt against humanity to usher in a new age only for Reploids to prosper in.

Gameplay Tips

  • Sigma's Neutral Special can be charged in order to unleash a multihit wave projectile. Let the fools tremble in terror!
  • Sigma's Side Special can be ended early by pressing the Special button again after he dashes forward. Get in proper range, and you're sure to take them out.
  • Sigma's Down Special and Down EX unleash projectiles that passively damage their target over time. Bit by bit, soon they suffer.
  • Sigma's Side EX has him teleport next to an enemy for a surprise strike. Their defiance will be their downfall.
  • Sigma's Up EX, while having no recovery whatsoever, sends out a multihit projectile that homes in on the opponent.

Trivia

  • Sigma's initial design was created by merging 3 villain designs during MMX1's development. Said designs were later used as a basis for X2's X-Hunters.
  • During a 2008 Q&A session, when asked if Street Fighter's Sagat inspired Sigma's design, Inafune stated that Sigma (and Zero) represent the idea that nothing is absolute.
