Scorpion

Scorpion

Mortal Kombat

Also Hanzo Hasashi, was a renowned ninja of the Shirai Ryu clan. His family and clan were slaughtered by Sub-Zero of the Lin Kuei. Seeking revenge, Scorpion was resurrected as a vengeful specter. He killed Sub-Zero in Mortal Kombat, only to later learn that it was Quan Chi, not Sub-Zero, who orchestrated the massacre. Seeking redemption, Scorpion allied with Earthrealm's warriors. He later discovered his clan and family could be restored and became their protector.

Gameplay Tips

  • Scorpion's Neutral Special and Neutral EX are his iconic Spear. Pull foes close, then give them hell, but try not to miss too much: it makes him angry.
  • Scorpion's Up Special, his Teleport Punch, works a little different than most: the horizontal direction chosen is where he reappears rather than where he ends up.
  • Scorpion's Down EX summons 3 fireballs that orbit around him. Use them to protect yourself, or send them hurling at enemies by using the move again!
  • Be careful when using Scorpion's Up Special and Side EX, for both will leave him wide open if defended against.
  • Scorpion's Prism Shatter is his Hell Hand Fatality from UMK3. Certain conditions, however, may lead to different outcomes.

Trivia

  • Prior to MK Vs. DC Universe in 2008, Scorpion had been voiced by Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon. This includes his famous "GET OVER HERE" line!
  • It's well-known that Scorpion killed the Elder Sub-Zero in the first MK tournament. This, however, was only first confirmed via the official MKII comic book and Shaolin Monks.
  • Mortal Kombat 3 is the only MK Fighting Game to date to not include Scorpion in its roster. This was later remedied through UMK3 and MK Trilogy.
