Ryu

Street Fighters

The main face of the Street Fighter franchise, Ryu is a martial artist who travels the world in search of strong opponents to achieve mastery over his martial arts. Though his dedication to travelling and training can make him seem distant, he is a wise, humble and respectful man, showing kindness, goodwill and support to those less fortunate than himself. Despite this, however, his quest for improvement risks unleashing the Satsui no Hado, an influence within his soul whose murderous intent he must constantly fight against, relying on his friends and allies for support in his inner struggle.

Gameplay Tips

  • Ryu's Down Special neglects enemy attacks, lightly increasing your Prism Meter in the process. Despite this, however, it is not immune to grabs.
  • Ryu's Side Special, when on the ground, is a hovering 4-hit move, whereas it becomes a single hit move when airborne. Even the smallest difference is crucial in battle.
  • Ryu's Down EX neglects enemy attacks, so long as they're not projectiles or grabs. It also has different attacks depending on if you're on the ground or not.
  • Ryu has two Prism Shatters - Shinku Hadouken and Shin Shoryuken. To perform the latter, simply hold up when using your Prism Shatter.
